About Hian Li
I studied law in Leiden. I then successfully completed the Postgraduate Course in Employment Law (PALA). I have been a solicitor since 1996. I began my career as a solicitor at Nauta Dutilh and subsequently served as a partner at medium-sized law firms in Rotterdam. In 2015, I founded Ko & Co Advocaten, a firm specialising in employment law and civil service law.
I joined Langelaar Klinkhamer Advocaten in 2018. Ko & Co Advocaten has therefore become the trading name under which Langelaar Klinkhamer Advocaten’s employment law practice operates.
I am well versed in all aspects of employment law: employment contracts of all kinds, contracts for services – I can advise on these or draft them as required. Probationary periods, non-competition clauses and non-solicitation clauses, impending disputes, reorganisations and individual or collective redundancy cases: these are all areas in which I have extensive knowledge and experience. In the case of reorganisations and collective redundancy cases, I can guide the associated employee participation processes and negotiations with the trade unions. I have extensive experience in negotiating and drafting social plans with works councils or trade unions. You can also contact me for advice on employers’ liability.
I am registered in the following main (and sub-)areas of law in the Dutch Bar Association’s register of legal specialisms: employment law and civil service law. Under the terms of this registration, I am required to earn ten continuing professional development points each calendar year in each registered main area of law, in accordance with the standards set by the Dutch Bar Association.
