Social Security Law
Social security law is the system of laws and measures that guarantees individuals an income or care when they are unable to provide for themselves. This may be the case, for example, in the event of incapacity for work, illness, retirement or unemployment. Social security law covers, amongst other things, the various benefits provided by the UWV. Legislation and measures falling within the scope of social security law include the Unemployment Act (WW), the Sickness Benefits Act (ZW) and the Work and Income according to Labour Capacity Act (WIA).
